
Blogger is a blogging platform (surprise surprise) extremely simple and friendly. It was created by Pyra Labs in the late ’90s thanks to its simplicity and helped popularize the concept of a blog: If you provided the platform and accommodation, and only needs to write, there was nowhere to be lost. Today, millions of people have self-hosting your blog or a free provider such as Blogger, WordPress, Typepad or another. Those who do not, at least they know what it is about the concept.
Well, in the case of Blogger and WordPress and Typepad everything is free: you have accommodation, everything is preinstalled, you get a nice subdomain and some customization options, but are quite limited. In particular, skins, themes or templates are chosen from a limited range and can hardly be altered. That is, until now, because Blogger announced it will allow you to do your own template using a tool called Blogger Template Designer.
The tool allows you to start from scratch or take a template from the collection of art presentations and begin to modify: the layout, background, fonts, buttons, images, style sheet and what comes to mind. Each change can instantly preview and undo if you do not like much or controls more intuitive than the best desktop WYSIWYG editors. (more…)
